Roland Lécavelé, known under the name of Roland Dorgelès, (Amiens, 1885 - Paris, 1973), French writer, he became famous with one heartrending war narrative "Les Croix de Bois" (1919), and published memories of Montmartre life ("Montmartre, mon pays", 1928; "Le Château des brouillards", 1932; "Bouquet de bohême", 1947; "Au beau temps de la Butte", 1963). He entered the Académie Goncourt in 1929.
