In 1589, the King of Navarre, the future Henri IV camped out on La Butte, bombed Paris occupied by the League. He had an affair with the young abbess Claude Beauvilliers who will introduce him her cousin Gabrielle d'Estrées, who became the king's mistress.

 

IIn October 1900, Pablo Ruiz Picasso arrived in Paris and moved to the workshop Nonell at No. 49 rue Gabrielle.
