Jean-Pierre Cortot (1787-1843) was a French sculptor.
At the end of the street, the Water Tower.

Besides the museum, the composer Erik Satie lived a small room "Le Placard" at No. 6 from 1890 to 1898.

17th century manor house belonging to Mr. Claude La Roze Rosimond, actor Molière's troupe. Here have lived Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Suzanne Valadon and her son Maurice Utrillo, Léon Bloy, Raoul Dufy, Pierre Reverdy ..

The Museum was inaugurated in 1960 by André Malraux.
