Bronze disc 12 cm in diameter with an indication of the North and South, created in 1994 by Jan Dibbets François . This is to pay tribute to Jean Dominique Arago (1786-1853), astronomer, physicist and French politician.

135 Arago medallions embedded in the tarmac of Paris depicting the Paris meridian which passe through Observatory Paris (14th district).

Since 1884 the zero meridian passes by the Observatory of Greenwich (suburb of London). The former meridian of Paris is situated in 2°20 ' east of the new zero meridian.
